Delhi Daredevils v
Wayamba ElevensIt was a must win game for Delhi. It needed a match winner to step up and take the pressure of the team.On a pitch where Sussex sharks were finding it difficult to even chase down 130 Virender Sehwag plundered 66 of 42 balls.Ten fours and one six later Sehwag’s innings was cut short by a runout but Karthik was in the zone and continued the momentum that Sehwag had provided. He hit five fours and then produced three stunning sixes off consecutive balls from Ajantha Mendis.Glenn "The Machine" McGrath made his comeback after nearly a year of no cricket but that didnt stop him from hitting the length from the word go.As Dirk Nannes ripped through the top order with his pace, McGrath was chipping away using his line and length to fool the batsmen into false stroke.By the time these two gentlemen had their say the Wayamabe elevens looked in disarray.Mahela Jayawardene was fighing a lonely battle with no support from his teammates as wickets were tumbling at the other end making 53 of 40 balls. It was the biggest win ever for delhi daredevils in terms of runs.

| 14.6 Lokuarachchi to Karthik, fuller ball tossed up outside off, Karthik comes out and runs the ball to short third man, sets off, its a bad call because Jayawardene was coming straight at the ball, Sehwag is a poor runner between the wickets and there really wasn't a run in this 112/3
| G Gambhir* | lbw b Mendis | 3 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 50.00 |
| 6.3 and that is plumb! Mendis pitches on middle and leg, the ball stays very low, Gambhir swats it off the back foot, misses, and is struck right in front of middle 45/2

| L Udawatte | b Nannes | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 50.00 |
| 1.1 awful shot from Udawatte, exposing all the sticks and heaving at air, Nannes only has to pitch it nice and straight and middle stump gets flattened 4/1

| J Mubarak* | b McGrath | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0.00 |
| 7.1 bowled em and look at that celebration! Lovely delivery from McGrath, one we've been fortunate to see so many times at the international level during his playing days, he just pitches it up around off stump and gets a hint of swing back in and that's more than enough to brush the pad and knock back the top of off, Mubarak goes very first ball to a gem 31/4
| KS Lokuarachchi | b McGrath | 4 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 80.00 |
| 7.6 another one goes! Really a suffocating line from McGrath and Lokuarachchi pays the price for just exposing his stumps and not using his feet, instead feeling for one that darts back in and crashes into the stumps 36/5
| MF Maharoof | c Dilshan b Nannes | 3 | 12 | 0 | 0 | 25.00 |
| 11.4 brilliant catch, and I mean brilliant! That is a great effort even though Delhi are already all over Wayamba! Maharoof makes room and biffs the ball up in the air over the bowler, its not a really well timed shot and Dilshan, sprinting across from mid-off, dives and plucks a low catch right behind the umpire 52/6
