Cape Cobras Vs Otago VoltsMan of the Match Andrew Puttick (104 not out, 62b, 12x4, 3x6) played an captain's innings and with exhilarating stroke play on both sides of the wicket.With the in-form J.P. Duminy providing him the support he needed at the other end,Puttick was not selected in the original 15-Man Squad for CLT20 but was selected as an last minute replacement for the injured grame smith. Towards the end, Justin Ontong played a cameo (39 not out, 14b, 2x4, 4x 6) and added 54 runs from 23 balls for the fifth wicket with Puttick. The last five overs produced 67 runs which saw Cobras reach 193 for four in 20 overs.The pitch was a belter of a wicket the run chase was certainly on but Otago missed the bus with some sloppy running between the wickets.Only Nathan Mccullum showed some fight with his 38 of 21balls.

On a pitch were 193 runs were scored in 20 hours just hours ago 153 was never going to be enough, it was VVS.Laxman who admitted that they were 20 to 30 run short.VVS Laxman played like his alter ego hitting the ball and not carassing it as he usually does.Marcus Trescothick knew pretty well that what he socres at the top of the innings would be crucial to his teams chances, he provided them the start they were hoping for with two blows over the slips of Fidel.Fidel Edwards was bowling quick but the ball was reaching to the fence even faster on a unusually fast outfield considering the rains in Andra.RP SIngh bought the home side back into the game when he picked up two crucial wickets to sent Justin Langer back. All of a sudden from 50/1 they were at 99/7 when James Hildreth and Alfonso Thomas then added 50 runs for the eighth wicket. They needed 5 runs of the last over when Gilchrist gave the ball to Veteran Kiwi Scott Styris (earlier fidel edwards was taken off as he bowled two beamers).He immediately picked two wickets to get the home side back into the game but alfonso thomas had other plans as he smashed home two hours in the last three balls to secure the most thrilling win so far in the tournament.
